Accidental hot water ingestion- An unusual cause of oesophagealstricture

Background: Esophageal Stricture due to accidental hot water ingestion. Case characteristics: 5-year-old boy presented with nausea, vomiting and dysphagia following hot water ingestion 20 days back. Intervention: Stricture dilatation by Savary Gilliard dilator. Outcome: Relief in symptoms. Message: Hot water ingestion should be kept in mind while evaluating oesophageal stricture.
